3 Year Business Anniversary

Most people have a specific date when they launched their business, but for me I was one of those people who don't. I knew it was in the first half of the year but because I had a year of just doing small events for friends and family I didn't have a set date. One day I was scrolling through my Facebook page, insta page and email account because I wanted to find exact dates in order to help me document my journey.

I thought about starting an events business in 2016, which was a year after I finished my uni degree, but I felt like I didn’t have enough knowledge on how to be a businesswoman let alone have my own events business so it was mearly a dream. Then at the end of that year I organised a big cousins reunion in a hall, with music, food etc and it went down well. Everyone was so impressed and I thought to myself this is a sign.

Fast forward a couple of months and I had my sisters babyshower to plan and organise. I received so much feedback from it that I decided to make preparations, decided on my business name and I created a Facebook page, 24th April 2017, this was one of the first dates I documented for my journey.

From the start I focused on small details. I careted different stations aswell as had the usual baby shower games that you play. There was a baby predictions station, headband making station, selfie sation, sweet table, create a nappy message station, favours table aswell as a food and drink table.

Still working full time, doing shifts at the airport, whilst also self sabotaging, not having the confidence and doubting my knowledge, I still didn't feel completely ready, so I just carried on doing the odd event for family and friends, and did some online courses.

Fast forward to the end of 2017, I was being made redundant from my job. I had no idea what I was going to do, and wasn’t given a lot of notice period, but it gave me that push I needed to focus on my business. So I got working on my branding, logo, business plan etc.. Shortly after being made redundant I was headhunted to relocate to another sector in the aviation industry so I decided to go for it, to keep me afloat financially whilst I was working on my business strategy. The fire was finally there so I knew that it wouldn’t stop me from doing my business.

3 months later, the logo was ready, my email address was created and I lauched my Instagram page. When I looked back on the date I launched my email address and Instagram page, I realised that it was exactly 1 year and 4 days after I created my Facebook page!

Then 4 days after that was my first offical event as Delarose Events which was a 1st birthday and Christening.

Fast forward 3 Years Later! And I am still here doing events full time and loving my business. It has been an incredibly tough journey with many late nights, early mornings, sacrafises, lessons, wins, mistakes, lost relationships, personal and business growth, accomplishments, highs lows you name it but I wouldn't change it. Each part of my journey has taught me a lesson, and I can take pride in knowing that I am constantly learning so I can do right for my business and customers.

So thank you for the last 3 years, thank you for sharing this journey with me and I can't wait to smash even more goals! I appreciate you all, Love Jadine Delarose.
